Hello there
I am in my sixth year working at Yuba College and sixTEENTH year teaching overall.
I have taught at community colleges and universities in California, Nevada, Texas, and South Carolina. I have a BA in English from UC Santa Barbara, a Master’s in English from Sacramento State, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of South Carolina, where I was the recipient of the James Dickey Fellowship and editor of Yemassee, the school's literary journal. I also had a writing fellowship at the University of Houston, where I worked as a visiting assistant professor.
I have published short creative work in various literary journals. For full-length work, I have published a short story collection and a novella at a small press in New York City called Spuyten-Duyvil. For more on my bio, teaching record, and publication history, see http://www.comphaunt.com/5056-2/
At Yuba College I teach English 1A, 1B, and 1C. I am more than happy to answer any questions you have about different writing disciplines, or college environments. Also, lots of students ask me to check out their creative work and I am more than happy to do that too.
