Professor of Ethnic Studies at Yuba College.
As a professor, I have taught Intro to Ethnic Studies, Intro to Chicano Studies.
Currently serving in the curriculum committee at YC, and the DREAM team, a faculty and staff collective that organizes events for local undocumented students.
I have a Masters in Chicana and Chicano Studies from Cal State Northridge, and a BA in Ethnic Studies from Washington State University. I was born and raised in Tijuana, and attended high school in Mexico, but moved to the US as a migrant farmworker. Eventually, I enrolled in my local community college and continued my studies. For a few years, I was an undocumented student and that informed my worldview and how I carry myself professionally and academically.
My classroom will always be a place where all are welcome.
